Hellogoodbye - Would It Kill You?

I have a list of dream jobs. Essentially, if I had the opportunity to do these things in life I think I would be happy. One of them would be radio DJ. I had the privilege of doing this in college for a couple years and loved it. Exposure to new music, sharing that music, and having a blast in the studio it was the best. Nowadays I get exposure to new music through following bands, seeing who they are touring with, and of all places NPR. I love listening to music, driving with it, running with it, even sometimes just sitting and enjoying a good album. This brings me to my first review:

Hellogoodbye - Would it Kill You?

This album is a different sound from their first studio album, Zombies!Aliens!Vampires!Dinosaurs! There is less of a sound that it was using a the drum machine function on a Casio keyboard and less auto tuned voices. Don't get me wrong, I love bands that utilize digital sounds and the Moog. The sound of their original release is not lost. Listening you can definitely tell this is Hellogoodbye with the distinct vocals of band lead, Forrest Kline. The sound is more mellow, invoking a chill poppy mood. Newcomers to the band are not going to be turned away with abrupt changes in melody or surprising changes between tracks. The album as a whole is well put together and recommended for those that like the sounds of the more recent alternative bands. The album was released November 9th, 2010 but no singles have been featured on the local stations. I only found this album through a venture on a Wikipedia trail and realized that they had put out a new album. Take them as you will and here is a taste, the third track on their album: When We First Met.
